Amanda Hall is the CEO and Founder of Summit Nanotech, a Canadian company transforming lithium extraction for the energy transition. With over 20 years of experience as a professional geophysicist, Amanda leads a team focused on delivering high-performance, low cost, and sustainable direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology.

She holds two Bachelor of Science degrees – one in Biology and Physics from the University of Toronto, and another in Geophysics from the University of Calgary. Her deep technical background informs Summit’s patented approach to lithium extraction, which combines advanced materials science, industrial process development, and AI-enabled optimization to meet the demands of modern lithium supply chains.

Amanda was the 2023 EY Entrepreneur of The Year® Prairies Winner, was named to Business Insider’s Climate Action 30 list, and was recognized as Canada’s leading female innovator in the MaRS Women in Cleantech Challenge, which played a key role in launching Summit’s commercial growth.

Known for her principled leadership and focus on long-term impact, Amanda is building a company that produces better lithium: higher recovery, lower water use, and technology that’s built to scale.

Land Acknowledgment

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, including the Blackfoot Confederacy—comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations—as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina Nations.

This land, known as Moh’kinsstis in the Blackfoot language and encompassing what is now Districts 5 and 6, is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.

We recognize and honour the deep connection these Nations have to the land, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share in its stewardship.

As we continue our work, we commit to learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, uplifting Indigenous voices, and fostering relationships rooted in equity, understanding, and reconciliation.
