Wind Heat North Inc.

Wind Heat North is a husband-and-wife business that incorporated in 2023 to from agreements with other organisations interested in advancing the development of wind and energy storage projects in the North. Their primary business is installing and operating wind monitoring towers in remote communities from Alaska to Nunavut. WHN also analyses wind data and uses village energy modelling tools to evaluate optimum wind scales to match the community’s use of electricity, space heating and transportation.

WHN has a combined 60 years of experience working, advocating, and intervening in the Yukon’s energy and utility sector. WHN has operated wind monitoring stations in over 60 locations over the past 30 years. WHN advocates for wind and storage development and has started several initiatives including the North Energy Innovation at the Yukon University, the Kluane Lake Wind Project, and the Whitehorse electric heat storage project.
