Dr. McKinney completed his PhD at the University of Utah on brainwave technology in mental health assessment. He served as the Research Director of Branch Out Neurological Foundation for 10 years, managing their peer-review granting program and science communication messaging. More recently, he co-founded 8-Bit Cortex to adapt his research into a gamified engagement survey platform to automate mental wellness outcome reporting. In all his roles, Ty has found a passion in impact-driven research and teaching a wide range of organizational psychology and brain health topics. When not thinking about the brain, Ty can be found exploring mountains, deserts, or anything resembling a park.
