Angela Dick

Following completion of a Bachelor of Science in Environment and Natural Resources with a major in Wildlife Conservation from the University of New Brunswick, I worked for two years conserving the inner Bay of Fundy Atlantic salmon, and other Species at Risk, through Fort Folly Habitat Recovery. Since then, I have been working as an Environmental Scientist and GIS Analyst for Fundy Engineering & Consulting Ltd., with a focus on wetland delineations, environmental baseline assessments and management plans. I have also had the opportunity to assist with Environmental Impact Assessments and contaminated sites remediation. In my spare time, I serve on the Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP) Saint John Board of Directors, participate in environmental clean-ups, and occasionally participate in educational programs in schools through the Gaia Project. From a young age I was inspired by passionate conservationists, particularly Steve Irwin, to pursue a career that would help to protect Earth’s beautiful environment, and to advocate for wildlife who could not advocate for themselves. I look forward to continuing to develop my career as an Environmental Professional and dedicated conservationist.

Land Acknowledgment

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, we acknowledge that we live, work, and gather on the traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, including the Blackfoot Confederacy—comprising the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani Nations—as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina Nations.

This land, known as Moh’kinsstis in the Blackfoot language and encompassing what is now Districts 5 and 6, is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.

We recognize and honour the deep connection these Nations have to the land, and we are grateful for the opportunity to share in its stewardship.

As we continue our work, we commit to learning from Indigenous knowledge systems, uplifting Indigenous voices, and fostering relationships rooted in equity, understanding, and reconciliation.
