Are you conducting original research, implementing projects, or developing novel approaches to environmental challenges?

Looking for an opportunity to share your work and insights on sustainable urban development, circular economy, renewable energy policies, climate change mitigation, biodiversity conservation, and more?

ECO Canada invites submissions for its inaugural ECO IMPACT 2024 Environmental Professional-in-Training Student Paper Award. While there is one award, ECO Canada acknowledges each EPt Student’s submission to innovative ideas and creative problem-solving in environmental sustainability. The winner will receive a travel and accommodation voucher and a complimentary event ticket to attend IMPACT 2024. In addition, the winner’s bio, paper title, and abstract will be posted on ECO Canada’s website as well as on ECO’s social media accounts. ECO Canada will publish digital conference proceedings of all submitted papers

Paper submission deadline: December 15, 2023 

Decision date: January 15, 2024 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Applicant must be a student from a degree-granting program, a recent graduate, and/or EPt Student in good standing with ECO Canada.
  2. The paper must be the applicant’s original work.
  3. Paper to be based on applicant’s completed or ongoing research or project, contribution in collaborative research or project, or case study.
  4. Papers can be from a wide variety of topics but must align with IMPACT 2024 streams: Innovation & Future Trends, Sustainability in Governance and Policy or Human Resources/People Analytics and must address the overall conference theme Retrofitting the Workforce: Empowering Environmental Innovation. (Refer to ECO IMPACT 2024 program for details and topic suggestions).
  5. Paper format: 2000-word maximum; APA reference style; footnote references.
  6. Abstract format: 300-word maximum; describing how the paper addresses or contributes to the conference’s stream and overall theme.
  7. Papers will be accepted in either official languages, English or French.
