Mr. Smith has more than 15 years experience studying and working in the field of human and ecological health risk assessment. Since 2016 he has led the team at Clear-Site Solutions in environmental liability reduction. Focusing on integration of sound risk-based toxicological assessment and the advancements of data-analytics Mr. Smith is transforming the landscape of risk-based analytical assessment and site liability. He has conducted research programs with a wide range of institutions including both Alberta Innovates and the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), Environment Canada and Queen’s University.
Most recently he has partnered with the University of Alberta in pursuit of novel in-situ remedial systems and treatment practices and created a not-for-profit organization aimed at furthering environmental education in remote communities. Over his career he has completed risk-based reclamation and remediation programs throughout Canada and spoken internationally in promotion of education in the field of human and ecological health risk assessment.
