Sylvie Stojanovski

Co-Executive Director of Operations and Administration | The Starfish Canada

Sylvie is the Co-Executive Director of Operations and Administration at The Starfish Canada, where she supports youth changemakers in amplifying their voices in climate action while centering equity and justice in the process. 

A creative and environmentalist at heart, Sylvie is passionate about using art and storytelling to imagine and build sustainable futures where individuals feel empowered to be themselves and live in reciprocity with the natural world. Before joining The Starfish, she gained recognition for her innovative leadership with hyperlocal community organizations like Scarbrite, Roots To Bloom, and Artists 4 Sustainability. In 2023, Sylvie was honoured as a Young Sustainability Changemaker by No.9 Contemporary Art and The Environment for designing art-based capacity-building programs for diverse audiences to enhance climate action and social impact work. 

Sylvie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management from the University of Toronto Scarborough and an MA in Art Education from Concordia University, where her research focused on sustainable making and being in the face of the global climate crisis.

This land, known as Moh’kinsstis in the Blackfoot language and encompassing what is now Districts 5 and 6, is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3, within the historical Northwest Métis homeland.
